Abstract Sculptured Figures December 1991
November 1991 After purchasing an electric smoothing iron packaged in polystyrene and glancing at the packaging at various angles I recognised features that could possibly resemble that of human and animal forms , resulting in the following sculptures. These sculptures were created by applying the engineering principles of Group Technology to a basic form or design.

On hind sight were the statues on Easter Island in my subconscious that triggered my imagination in the above direction. Or did the giant inhabitants of Easter Island packaged their smoothing irons in the greyish yellow stone from the volcano Rana Roraka many centuries ago .
